City schools get hoax bomb threat emails

Several schools across the city received hoax bomb emails on Monday. This comes three days after a similar threat was received by Kempegowda International Airport.

Schools in Udupi and Hassan also got similar threats which were later found to be a hoax.

On Monday, panic gripped the staff of several schools in north and west divisions of the city following the bomb threat. On being alerted, the police made a thorough check and declared it to be a hoax.

The same email was sent to many schools in Bengaluru and other parts of the State, the police said, adding that a probe had been launched to ascertain the source of the mail.

Earlier on Friday, a hoax email was received by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in charge of handling security at the Bengaluru airport.

An FIR filed by the airport police based on a complaint filed by Prakash Kumar Mishra, senior official of the CISF, charged the unknown accused under various sections of the BNS.
