Class IX girl stops attending school over molestation, death threatsKeshav AgarwalPilibhit: A 22-year-old man has been booked in Pilibhit for allegedlymolesting a 15-year-old Class IX student and issuing threats to kill her.According to a complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the accused repeatedlyharassed the victim in public and pressured her to live with him. Due tothe ongoing intimidation, the girl stopped attending school and coachingclasses. Police have registered a case and begun further investigation.The complaint said that in a recent incident, the accused, Vinod Kumar ofAvadh Nagar Colony, passed derogatory remarks for her daughter and draggedher by her arm when she was returning home from her coaching class at 6.30Pm on April 20.The SHO of Pilibhit Kotwali police station, Satyendra Kumar, said that theaccused was booked under BNS section 74 (criminal force to a woman withintent to outrage her modesty), 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) and 352(intentional insult).
