CM announces Rs 3 lakh each to kin of boys who drowned in PAP canal near Tirupur

COIMBATORE: Chief minister M K Stalin on Sunday announced Rs 3 lakh each to the families of two boys who drowned in the PAP canal near Udumalpet in Tirupur district.Stalin expressed his condolences over the deaths of D Manikandan, 13, of Sree Mariyamman Nagar in Periyakottai village and R Mohan Prasath, 13, of Kamaraj Nagar in Periyakottai.

The boys drowned in the Parambikulam - Aliyar Project (PAP) canal in Nehru Nagar on Saturday while they were bathing in it. The bodies were retrieved from the canal on Sunday.In a press release, Stalin stated, "I have conveyed my heartfelt condolences to the parents and relatives of the boys and instructed the officials to hand over Rs 3 lakh to their families."
