Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has made a strong pitch for investments in Telangana asserting that the State provides adequate safety to them
He invited the industry to invest in the State and become brand ambassadors of Telangana, encouraging more investments to come in. The Chief Minister was speaking at the annual meeting of the Public Affairs Forum of India in New Delhi on Friday (September 19, 2025).
He said that the Government had taken up a spree of initiatives to make the State investor-friendly. Accordingly, Skills University was established to hone the skills of youth to match the requirements of the industry. “The Government is working to create opportunities for future generations, making them globally competitive,” he said. Students passing out of the Skills University were sure to get remunerative employment as the courses were tailor made to suit the industry’s needs.
Given Telangana’s location as a landlocked State, it had been decided to ensure connectivity from Future City to Machilipatnam port. The Central Government was requested to give its consent to the proposals for developing a greenfield expressway between the two locations and parallel railway line enabling the State to export its produce.
The State would come up with the Vision-2047 document, to be released on December 9, outlining the initiatives taken by the Government for sustained and all-around development. Accordingly, the State had been divided into core urban, semi-urban and rural zones. Over one crore people reside in the core urban region, and steps had been initiated to relocate the pollution-causing industries outside the core urban region. The semi-urban region would be the hub for manufacturing sector.
The Government had resolved to expand the metro rail facility from the existing 70 km to 150 km and the process had been initiated in this direction. Over five lakh people were using the metro rail facility at present on a daily basis and the Government had targeted to increase it to 15 lakh in the coming days.
In addition to taking up work on elevated corridors in the core urban region, focus was on enhancing the use of electric vehicles. The State had put in place several subsidies for encouraging the use of electric vehicles, and they would dominate the roads by 2027. Focus was on Musi rejuvenation on the lines of Sabarmati riverfront and construction of Bharat Future City, a net zero city, from which connectivity would be provided to the airport.
The State had speeded up works on the Regional Ring Road to suit its needs. “Political will is needed for effective governance,” he said. Referring to the drug menace, he said the State had dealt with the menace with an iron fist and ensured that Telangana stood in the first place in controlling drugs.
Simultaneously, the Government had established a sports university with a view to create an environment enabling youth to compete in the prestigious events like the Olympics. “It is surprising to see the number of medals that small countries like South Korea are winning in the Olympics. The Government has therefore set up a sports varsity with an aim to win medals for the country in the Olympics,” he said.
Revanth draws parallels between KCR and Donald Trump
Mr. Reddy has drawn parallels between US president Donald Trump and Bharat Rashtra Samtihi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Mr. Trump claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his best friend but imposed indiscriminate taxes on India which would cause more loss to the United States. “There was a Trump in Telangana too. But, people have shown him the door,” he said.
