CM seeks explanation from Patil

As the allegation about cash-for-house scam made by Planning Board Deputy Chairman B.R. Patil has given fodder for the Opposition to attack the government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is learnt to have called Mr. Patil to seek an explanation.

While Mr. Patil’s purported telephone conversation with a close aide of Housing Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan has left the government red-faced, his statement on Sunday confirming that it was his voice has further embarrassed the government.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office said that taking exception to such public statements, Mr. Siddaramaiah had asked the legislator to meet him in person to explain.

“Mr. Patil will meet the Chief minister either in Raichur on Monday or once the Chief Minister returns from Delhi,“ they said.
