A Centre of Excellence in Design will be established in Hyderabad as part of Telangana government’s plans to position the State as an innovation hub, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said here on Thursday.
The CoE will contribute to emergence of Hyderabad as a global design hub, he said while inaugurating the 21st international UXINDIA conference, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. A three day conference, it is being organised by the UMO Design Foundation.
The government is pursuing a structured approach to position Telangana as an innovation hub. The upcoming AI Innovation Hub would place strong emphasis on design and creativity, the Minister’s office said in a release on his speech.
Mr. Vikramarka said that Hyderabad is transforming into a knowledge centre and emerging as a hub for new innovations. With its strong IT and AI base as well as the required infrastructure and ecosystem to support new technologies and development, Hyderabad has the potential to drive future growth.
UMO Design Foundation founder Kaladhar Bapu said there are plans to train one million women in design by 2030. “Women can pursue careers in design... with digital knowledge now integrated into design, the opportunities are endless,” he said.
