Collector advises people to remain highly vigilant during rainy season

District Collector K. Vetriselvi on Monday (August 18, 2025) advised the public to remain extremely cautious during the ongoing rainy season. Citing alerts from the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority, she said that there is a likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in several parts of the district.

She warned people against taking shelter under trees, towers, electric poles, agricultural fields, or open spaces during thunderstorms. Instead, she said, everyone should seek refuge in safe buildings to protect themselves from the lightning strikes.

She further emphasised that all residents must take necessary precautions without fail during the rainy season to avoid accidents and loss of life.
