Collector inspects rain-damaged roads, hands over cheque for ₹5 lakh to the family members of missing cattle grazer

District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha has asked the officials of the departments concerned to prepare estimates for repair works on the roads, Mission Bhagiratha pipelines and electricity infrastructure damaged by recent spell of heavy rains in Gambhiraopet mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district.

The Collector on Tuesday inspected the damaged portion of the Narmala-Lingannapeta main road in Gambhiraopet mandal.

Earlier, the Collector handed over a cheque for ₹5 lakh to the family members of Nagaiah, a cattle grazer, who went missing after he was swept away by swirling waters of Manair river at Narmala on August 27, 2025, towards financial aid sanctioned by the State government.

He also disbursed compensation to two villagers of Lingannapeta for the loss of cattle in the recent floods in Manair river.
