An 18-year-old college student was allegedly harassed by an unidentified man near CMH Signal in Indiranagar on Monday.
This is the second such incident after a 33-year-old woman, a resident of Domlur, who was walking her pet dog, was sexually harassed when the accused dressed in shorts followed her and called out, ‘Madam’. When she turned around, he exposed himself and made sexual gestures last Monday.
According to the complaint filed at the Indiranagar Police Station, the incident took place around 2.50 p.m. when the victim, a first-year BCA student, was returning home after attending college in Halasuru.
She had alighted from a bus on 80 Feet Road and was walking towards her residence when the accused allegedly began whistling at her. When the girl turned around, the accused, riding a scooter, stared at her, when she confronted and warned him, after which he moved away.
He returned minutes later when the victim continued walking home, followed her, honked, and made a lewd gesture before speeding away, the complaint added.
The Indiranagar police have registered a case under Section 75 (sexual harassment) under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police have launched a probe to nab the accused.
