Compensation cheque for ₹10 lakh given to family of man buried alive

A compensation cheque for ₹10 lakh was given on Wednesday to the family of Chetan Jadhav who was recently buried alive in a trench dug for the 24x7 water supply project in Hubballi.

BJP MLA Mahesh Tenginakai visited the house of the victim to hand over the cheque given by the contractor executing the work on behalf of L&T company.

Mr. Tenginakai also promised to make efforts to get additional funds for the family. After the tragic incident, Mr. Tenginakai had taken up the issue with the company authorities. Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Council councillor Rajanna Koravi and a few local leaders were present.
