Complete shutter repairs of Central Godavari Delta canals by early June: Collector

Dr. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar has directed irrigation officials to complete repairs to the shutters of irrigation canals in the Central Godavari Delta by early June to ensure timely irrigation water supply to the next Kharif season. Presently, all irrigation canals have been closed for maintenance. 

At a review meeting with irrigation officials on Monday, Mr. Mahesh Kumar said that an estimated ₹1.8 crore has been sanctioned for the repair of the irrigation canals’ shutters in the Central Godavari Delta. 

“As many as 145 works have been sanctioned in the Central Delta to strengthen the canal system in the assembly constituencies of Amalapuram, Kothapeta, Mummudivaram, and Razole”, said Mr. Mahesh Kumar.
