A deadline of one-and-half month was set for completion of Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar. And the works at the multi-specialty hospital in Warangal have to be wrapped up by the end of the year.
The directions were issued by Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha who reviewed the works underway at TIMS in Sanathnagar, L.B. Nagar and Alwal, expansion of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), medical colleges in various districts and other projects, at a review meeting held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat in Hyderabad on Friday (September 19, 2025).
The Minister reiterated that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy wanted TIMS in Sanathnagar to be functional by the end of the year and he directed officials from Roads and Buildings department to complete it by end of October. Officials informed that the works there are in the last phase, and that it would take another six months to complete the works at the health facilities in Alwal and L.B. Nagar.
Mr. Narasimha directed Health department Secretary Christina Chongthu to ensure that necessary equipment, furniture and other resources are procured so that medical services from the day TIMS Sanathanagar is inaugurated. Director of Medical Education A. Narendra Kumar was instructed to recruit doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals
The Minister wanted hostels for Post Graduate students to be part of NIMS expansion. Officials from Roads and Buildings have informed him that the medical colleges in Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Jangaon and Wanaparthy would be handed over in two months.
