US President Donald Trump has said that the United States has “beaten and completely decimated" Iran and urged the countries affected by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes, to take care of the sea route.

In a post on Truth Social, the US President said that the nations that receive oil through the narrow waterway should take responsibility for protecting the route, while Washington would assist in coordinating security efforts.

“The United States of America has beaten and completely decimated Iran, both militarily, economically and in every other way, but the countries of the world that receive oil through the Hormuz Strait must take care of that passage, and we will help — a lot," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

He added that Washington would coordinate with other countries to ensure shipping through the waterway continues “quickly, smoothly and well".

“The US will also coordinate with those Countries so that everything goes quickly, smoothly, and well. This should have always been a team effort, and now it will be — It will bring the World together toward Harmony, Security, and Everlasting Peace!" he added.

Trump’s fresh remark calling for countries to join US efforts to end the Strait of Hormuz came a day after he announced strikes at Iran’s Kharg Island.

In another post, the US President said that several countries affected by disruptions to oil shipments could send naval forces to the region to keep the strait open.

He vowed that the United States would use overwhelming force to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Washington would “bomb the hell out of the shoreline" if necessary to ensure the vital oil route remains open after Iran attempted to disrupt traffic through the waterway.

“Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe," Trump wrote.

He claimed US forces had already destroyed “100% of Iran’s military capability," but warned that Tehran could still disrupt shipping through limited attacks such as drones, sea mines or short-range missiles targeting vessels in the narrow waterway.

Trump also urged several major economies dependent on Gulf oil supplies, including China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom, to send naval ships to help protect commercial traffic.

He described Iran’s attempt to restrict shipping as an “artificial constraint" and said international naval cooperation would ensure the waterway remains open.

“In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian boats and ships out of the water," Trump wrote, vowing that Washington would act until the route is secured.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, with roughly one-fifth of global oil shipments passing through the narrow channel each day. Any prolonged disruption to traffic could have major consequences for global energy markets and maritime security in the region.
