HYDERABAD
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has underscored the need to protect the interests of ‘disappointed’ party cadre and called upon Congress leaders to focus their attention on ensuring proper coordination with party workers.
Addressing a meeting of Congress leaders of Karimnagar parliamentary constituency at Gandhi Bhavan in the city on Friday, Mr. Goud said that the appointment of Meenakshi Natarajan as the AICC in-charge of the State has given a new enthusiasm to the party.
The PCC chief did not mince words in stating that the performance of a few legislators were not up to the mark and wanted them to improve. He said that these legislators should buckle up and let the party win the local body elections. He also lamented that the government was not getting due recognition for its welfare measures.
He underscored the need to strengthen the party from the booth level, and wanted everyone to strengthen the party. Mr. Goud expressed confidence that the much-delayed PCC executive announcement and Cabinet expansion would take place this month only.
The meeting was attended by party MLA Adi Srinivas, former Minister T. Jeevan Reddy, MLC Balmoor Venkat and MLA and DCC chief Kavvampally Satyanarayana.
