Sardar, who was also reportedly associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) as a party worker. .
Sardar’s younger brother, Mohammed Ibrahim, told the police in a statement that the trouble began when the family started renovation work on their home. “Ibrahim alleges that Baba Fasiuddin began demanding money to allow the construction to continue. When Sardar reportedly refused to pay up, Fasiuddin, his wife Habeeba Sultana, and others allegedly began threatening the family with dire consequences,” said Ibrahim in his statement.
A few days before the suicide, the third floor of the family’s house was demolished by GHMC officials. As per the FIR, Fasiuddin reportedly told Sardar that the demolition would not stop with just one floor and that he would ‘bring down the entire building, foundations included’.
