Senior Congress leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, and many Ministers, stepped up campaigning in the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency on Tuesday.

As part of the campaign, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka extensively visited Moosapet in support of Congress candidate Naveen Yadav. Interacting with fruit traders, he enquired about local issues and assured residents that the government is committed for the development of the constituency.

At a minority meeting in Yousufguda, Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress is the only party that upheld secular values “from Delhi to Gulli” and was best positioned to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana and nationally. He criticised regional parties, including the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), stating that they had weakened the secular space and aided the BJP’s rise by splitting votes.

Mr. Reddy said the BRS would face the same political decline as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which, he recalled, paid the price for its alliances of convenience.

In Rahmat Nagar, Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress would win the bypoll with a substantial majority. Meanwhile, members of Om Nagar Church Committee and leaders from other parties joined the Congress.

He said the development and welfare measures undertaken in the last 23 months under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had strengthened public support. Questioning the BRS’ record in the constituency, he said the previous government failed to issue even one new ration card in a decade, whereas the Congress government had issued 14,000 new ration cards and added about 8,000 names to existing cards in the past 22 months.

Advisor to the Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Md. Azharuddin and other senior leaders also addressed the gathering.
