Congress MLA’s Son Booked For Allegedly Trying To Run Over Cops In Madhya Pradesh, 1 Injured

The son of Congress MLA Sena Mahesh Patel has been booked for allegedly trying to run over police constables with a speeding SUV in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

The incident, involving Jobat MLA’s son, took place near a bus stand on Sunday night when the police were on patrol. The incident was captured on CCTV and has gone viral.

It is learnt that the accused, Pushpraj Patel, attempted to hit the cops, after they signalled his SUV to stop.

In the viral video, police officers on patrol were seen signalling the approaching SUV to stop but instead of complying with the instruction, the vehicle sped past a barricade and veered sharply towards the cops.

The video further showed constables scattering to avoid being hit, with one officer narrowly jumping out of the way. Another constable was reportedly struck before the vehicle crashed into an electricity pole. The condition of the injured officer is not known.

A case has been registered against Pushpraj Patel at the Alirajpur police station under charges of attempt to murder. Meamwhile, Pushpraj Patel is currently absconding.

This is not the first time Patel has faced serious legal accusations. In September 2024, he was booked for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 25-year-old woman. According to a report by The Times of India, the woman had ended her life after reportedly receiving repeated threats from Patel, who was allegedly pressuring her to marry him.

Police have launched a search for Patel. Further investigation into the case is underway.
