The dates of the local body elections and the 42% reservations for the Backward Classes are likely to be finalised at the joint meeting of the Political Affairs Committee and Advisory Committee of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Saturday.
The meeting to be attended by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, PAC members and the Advisory Commitee of the TPCC will discuss the steps to be taken in the light of the recent High Court judgment on the local body elections.
Sources said there will be a discussion on implementing 42% BC reservations in local body elections and how to go about it in view of the Centre not clearing the Bills passed by the Assembly on reserving 42% seats to BCs. Strategies to be adopted for the Jubilee Hills by-election and the AICC Campaign on “Vote Chori, Gaddi Chod” agitation across Telangana., urea shortage issue and filling up the party posts are likely to be discussed.
