Congress releases first list of 48 candidates for Bihar Assembly polls

The Congress on Thursday (October 16, 2025) released its first list of 48 candidates for Bihar polls, fielding Bihar Congress State President Rajesh Ram from Kutumba and CLP Shakeel Ahmed Khan from Kadwa assembly seat. The list also figures five women candidates.

This is the first official announcement of the candidates by the INDIA bloc.

Out of the 48 candidates, 24 names are for the first phase polling and another 24 names are for the second phase. The list also includes 4 Muslim candidates, 9 Scheduled Caste candidates, and 1 candidate from the Scheduled Tribe.
