Congress leader K. Sudhakaran, MP, has said that the Congress will “100% accept“ the Communist Party of India (CPI) if it decides to part ways with the Left Democratic Front (LDF) over differences surrounding the PM SHRI project.
Speaking to reporters in Kannur on Monday (October 27, 2025), Mr. Sudhakaran remarked that the CPI’s stance indicated that “something was serious within the LDF.” He said the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] had failed to persuade its alliance partner and said that unresolved issues could trigger a split in the ruling coalition.
“When decisions are taken without consulting alliance partners, parties that disagree will naturally move away. In such a scenario, the CPI may not be able to continue in the LDF. Unity among ruling partners is essential for smooth governance,” he said.
On Cong. reorganisation
On questions about the Congress’ affairs, Mr. Sudhakaran said preparations for the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) meetings were on track and expressed satisfaction with the reorganisation process. “Everything that needs to be done is happening. Will any political party appoint 140 secretaries? All such talk is meaningless,” he added.
