Conor McGregor has once again put himself in the center of the UFC spotlight. The veteran UFC star has recently confirmed his place on the historic White House fight card. The event, organized by UFC president Dana White, is scheduled to take place in June 2026 on the lawn of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

For McGregor, who hasn’t fought since his 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier, the card teases his comeback.

Speaking to cameras in New York, the 37-year-old Irishman left no room for speculation. “That’s a definitely, that’s for sure,” McGregor said when asked if he was fighting at the event. “That’s my event.” He described his excitement as overwhelming, adding, “I’m very, very excited, very eager, very motivated, bring it on, baby.”Originally slated for July 4, 2026, the card was moved up a month, a shift McGregor openly embraced. “I’m very happy that it’s June,” he said. “It was on in July. Now it’s a month earlier, even better. Bring it to April, why not? Let’s celebrate the birthday early. I celebrate my birthday months in advance.”The White House event is expected to be one of the most exclusive in UFC history, with Dana White noting attendance could be capped at fewer than 5,000 because of security restrictions.

The Wall Street Journal reported that fighters may warm up inside the White House, while weigh-ins are planned for the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, alongside fireworks and fan festivities on the National Mall.

Conor McGregor balances fight hype with bigger ambitions

McGregor’s long-awaited return is expected to draw global attention, with Michael Chandler still hoping to complete their long-discussed matchup. Jon Jones and Colby Covington have also been mentioned as possible names for the card, though White has remained cautious about commitments.

Away from the Octagon, McGregor addressed recent speculation about his political ambitions. “My passion, it is not for politics of Ireland, it is not for any specific item of art,” he said. “It is for Ireland, that is what my passion is for. I am a man for Ireland and I will stand for my country as it is your duty to do such. And if you do not, you are nothing to me.”Also Read: WWE confirms WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia, ending four-decade tradition of hosting only in North AmericaMcGregor's return to UFC would be huge, as fans have long been waiting for the legend inside the octagon.
