Acting on the information, teams of the BSF and Police rushed to the spot, and the consignment was recovered at around 11 a.m. in a forward area following information from locals, officials added.

Preliminary reports said that the consignment was wrapped in a package weighing approximately 1.5 kilograms and was lying in the border belt. The package has not been opened yet, they said.

Officials noted that, as a precautionary measure, the package will be examined using a metal detector and other safety protocols to rule out the presence of any explosive material before it is opened.

Further investigation and technical examination of the recovered consignment are underway, they said.
