Constable saves infant trapped in car at Mahanandi

A constable of Mahanandi police station acted swiftly to save the life of an infant who was trapped in a locked car on Sunday.

According to the police, Raju, a person from Vijapur in Karnataka, visited the Mahanandi temple with his family members. Every family member except Raju’s one-year-old child, who was sleeping in the car, and two others, rest all went for darshan. The other two also left the car a little later with the child still inside and all the doors locked.

After some time, the child woke up and started crying. Locals noticed the infant crying and informed the constable, D. Chandra Shekhar, who was on patrol duty and passing by. The constable immediately broke the car’s side window and rescued the child from potential danger.
