Patrick Mahomes reacts to viral Dylan Raiola comparison: Image via X
Patrick Mahomes and Dylan Raiola have been on the same page, no, not in the scoreboard, but regarding No. 15. Donning the same jersey number doesn’t mean that much, but mirroring the looks, the style, the attitude, and the moves definitely means something, even if it’s not identity theft, as the critics point out.
You may call it a mad admiration that reflected even through the symmetric sunglasses and the facial hair, a quintessential Mahomes’ symbol. Gradually, Raiola’s obsession with the Chiefs’ poster boy left fans unhinged, especially during Nebraska’s Friday night showdown. But who cares as long as the man himself (Patrick Mahomes) doesn’t?
Patrick Mahomes breaks the silence on his constant resemblance to Dylan Raiola
Drawing a comparison to the two-time MVP is nothing new for the Nebraska quarterback.
The 20-year-old even gives off a similar vibe to Mahomes’ iconic throwing style in the field in his signature Adidas gear. Of course, that’s something more rational than coincidental, as Raiola has been trained under Mahomes’ coach, James Christensen, last offseason. But this time, it couldn’t be more surreal as Raiola made his debut at the Chiefs’ home (Arrowhead Stadium) in style.
Time stopped for a while as the crowd thought it was Mahomes who walked in.
Meanwhile, Mahmoes, alongside his wife, Brittany, watched Raiola live at Arrowhead yesterday, and all he perceived was ‘cool’. He is certainly used to watching his skills emulated by the young stars over the years. But Raiola stood out among all. He has the angle, the crazy sidearm flicks, and a similar warm-up schedule, and even the superstar gestures in his bones. When asked about it, the Chiefs’ QB said, "It's cool, honestly. I was that guy. I grew up watching players.”"I remember when I would grow up, I loved Alex Rodriguez playing shortstop, and I tried to make plays just like him and do stuff like that, and it helped me become the athlete that I am,” Mahmoes added. The Chiefs’ hero has a strong off-field affinity with his double, as he revealed they had trained together last year. However, Mahmoes now has a bigger priority to focus on rather than entertaining a petty controversy.
Patrick Mahomes couldn’t witness Dylan Raiola and his team win at the end
Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback left the Cornhuskers’ season opener early. Nebraska defeated Cincinnati with Raiola making a strong stat (243 yards, 2 TDs), but Mahomes wasn’t there to clap. The three-time Super Bowl winner has seen the Huskers take hold of their opponent, but couldn’t be part of the 20-17 victory. He missed the final blow, but it’s no offense as his baby girl took the space. During an Instagram post, the athlete noted, “Got to wake up with the kids in the morning, my bad.” The typical dad next door! Just exactly how it should be. Mahmoes has three kids: their 7-month-old daughter, Golden, their 2-year-old son, Bronze, and their big sister, Sterling (4), and he never gets enough of them. A father’s duty is enigmatic, gigantic, all at once, but Patrick Mahomes bears it all with a wide smile and warm heart. Also read: Texas coach Steve Sarkisian’s wife recounts heartbreaking pregnancy struggle and hope after birth | NFL News - The Times of India
