‘Coolie’ Box Office collection day 11: Rajinikanth's film crosses Rs 250 crore mark in India; races ahead of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s ‘War 2’

Rajinikanth’s much-awaited film ‘Coolie’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the gangster drama opened in cinemas on 14 August with sky-high expectations. Packed with mass action and Rajinikanth’s trademark charisma, the film has now crossed Rs 250 crore in India within 11 days.After a strong opening weekend, ‘Coolie’ saw a sharp drop in collections during the weekdays. However, the film bounced back strongly in its second weekend, proving Rajinikanth’s pull at the box office is still going strong.

On its eleventh day, the film earned around Rs 10.75 crore nett across all languages in India, according to early estimates by Sacnilk. This pushed the total collection to an impressive Rs 256.75 crore.

‘Coolie’ races ahead of ‘War 2’

The big Independence Day box office clash between Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’ and Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR’s ‘War 2’ created quite a buzz. While both films opened strong, ‘Coolie’ has now taken the lead.

According to Sacnilk’s early estimates, ‘War 2’ collected Rs 6.50 crore on Day 11, bringing its total to Rs 221 crore. With this, Rajinikanth’s film has clearly surged ahead in the box office battle.
