The cooperative network in Rajasthan is being strengthened at the grassroots with the primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) reaching out to a large number of women and youth in the membership drive. After the registration of 8.71 lakh new members, the drive has been extended till October 22, 2025.

Minister of State for Cooperative Gautam Kumar Dak said in Jaipur on Thursday (October 17, 2025) the PACS had organised 8,500 special camps for giving membership to the people in the rural areas. “The survey had also been completed for the formation of new PACS in 1,688 village panchayats,” Mr. Dak said.

The cooperative membership drive was earlier scheduled for October 2 to 15. Five types of activities were organised in the camps to achieve the desired results and a large number of women and youth were attached to the cooperative bodies.

Mr. Dak said the Cooperative Department had received proposals for the formation of 1,208 PACS after the completion of survey and district-level meetings. Besides, the land has been identified for construction of godowns in 1,340 cooperative societies. The membership drive also witnessed Aadhaar seeding of over 38,400 farmers for Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

The Minister said the membership campaign had proved to be a crucial step in strengthening the cooperative network in the State and taking the cooperative movement to new heights. “While the cooperative sector ensures smooth access to public welfare schemes, the allotment of land to cooperative societies will increase their storage capacity,” he said.
