Could Giannis Antetokounmpo exit from Milwaukee Bucks due to Damian Lillard’s injury? NBA experts weigh in (Image Source: Getty)
The Milwaukee Bucks, who lost early in the playoffs, with Giannis Antetokounmpo having to lead the team alone after Damian Lillard got injured, put them in a difficult spot. However, Giannis managed to have a decent season, where he was able to score 30.4 points per game, but the team still failed to win.
What will be Giannis Antetokounmpo next move?
NBA expert Eddie House believes Giannis Antetokounmpo may want to leave because Damian Lillard is left injured and he won’t be able to play next season. It can get even more difficult for the Milwaukee Bucks to secure a decent win. Even former NBA player DeMarcus Cousins suggests, for Giannis, the Miami Heat could possibly be a better team, that offers him different avenues and where he could at least gather stronger support when it comes to the sport. Eddie House was speaking on Straight Game Podcast, where he said:“I think the reason why he wants to get out of there is because of Dame’s (Damian Lillard) injury. I don’t think that if Dame didn’t get hurt, and they made a deep playoff run, and they competed without him getting hurt – Dame is not going to play next season,”While Giannis Antetokounmpo did have a brilliant season, the Milwaukee Bucks ended up losing early in the playoffs again.
Now that Damian Lillard was injured, Giannis had to bear the burden of carrying the team alone, which wasn’t enough. DeMarcus Cousins, a former four-time All-Star center, who was speaking on on “Run It Back” on FanDuel TV explains:“I would love to see Giannis in Miami, It’s an organization that’s proven. They know how to build around a superstar. It’d definitely put a better light on Pat Riley with how it went with Jimmy Butler to get another superstar like Giannis, so it makes sense.”He said:“I think that’s the perfect move. It would definitely help Miami, with them struggling to get a superstar after how the breakup went with Jimmy Butler. It makes sense. He’s already said he wants to play in a tax-free state.”He added:“I just don’t know if they have enough to acquire him like a Houston does, like a San Antonio does, even a Golden State. That would be the only issue there.”Also Read: Where Does Damian Lillard Hail From?
