Countdown for COCON 2025 begins with cybersecurity workshops

The countdown for COCON 2025, the annual cybersecurity and hacking conference organised by the Kerala Police in association with the Information Security Research Association (ISRA), has begun with a series of cybersecurity workshops getting under way at Kochi on Tuesday.

The workshops will continue on Wednesday too. The conference will be held on October 10 and 11 at Grand Hyatt, Kochi.

Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan will inaugurate the conference at 9:30 a.m. on October 10. Hibi Eden, MP, will preside. Ravada Chandrasekhar, State Police Chief, will deliver the keynote address. Manoj Abraham, Director General of Police and Director Vigilance; S. Sreejith, Additional Director General of Police; P. Prakash, Inspector General of Police; Putta Vimaladitya, District Police Chief (Kochi City); and Ankit Asokan, Superintendent of Police, Cyber Operations, will attend.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the valedictory session at 4 pm on October 11. The session will be presided over by Industries Minister P. Rajeeve. Mayor M. Anilkumar, K.N. Unnikrishnan, MLA, and ISRA president Manu Zacharia will attend.

The conference will address issues arising from the global surge in organised cybercrime, including fraud, and the implications of artificial intelligence in digital ecosystems, according to the organisers. The event will also formulate strategic responses to cyber threats faced by professionals in the cyber domain, as well as critical sectors such as banking, finance, healthcare, universities, and government departments, said a communication.
