Cuncolim traders flag issues to new chief officer

Margao: The Cuncolim Traders’ Association met on Tuesday with the newly appointed chief officer of the Cuncolim Municipal Council, Vimod Dalal, to address issues affecting local businesses.Traders raised concerns about cleanliness, inadequate sanitation, unauthorised encroachments in commercial areas, and the proliferation of movable carts (gadas), which were restricting business operations by causing inconvenience and creating unfair competition.They alerted the chief officer to the issue of persistent traffic congestion, hampering customer access to the market. They stressed the need for better infrastructure to support trade and improve the business environment.Dalal assured traders that action would be taken on the concerns raised. Yatin Talaulikar, president of the Cuncolim Traders’ Association, expressed the commitment of the traders to coordinate with municipal authorities to resolve the issues effectively.
