MUMBAI: England allrounder Sam Curran insists his side is ready to deliver their “perfect game” when they face India in the semifinal on Thursday. It was at this venue last year that Abhishek Sharma smashed a 54-ball 135 against England.

The left-hander has struggled in this World Cup, but Curran hopes there’s no repeat of those heroics. “I do hope Abhishek doesn’t play the same knock again,” Curran said on Tuesday. “We’re very well planned and focused on Thursday night.”England’s campaign has had its shaky moments — a four-run win over Nepal and a two-wicket victory over Pakistan. But Curran believes the semifinal is the stage to peak.“If there’s ever a time to play our perfect game, it’s now. In T20 cricket, it only takes a couple of players to click with bat and ball.”On the Wankhede atmosphere, he quipped with a grin, “It’s an iconic stadium. I’m sure it’ll be very quiet on Thursday night.”
