The Central Division Cyber Crime police are on the lookout for an unidentified man for blackmailing a Delhi based businessman by uploading morphed pictures of his daughter on a dating website.
Based on the complaint filed on Saturday, the police have registered an FIR charging the accused under section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) under the Information Technology Act, 2000 for further investigation.
The complainant said that the accused had approached him through three different numbers, which were later shared with the police, informing the complainant that a nude picture of his daughter was uploaded on a dating website. A link was also shared. The accused had even uploaded the morphed pictures of other family members to blackmail the complainant demanding ransom. The accused had further threatened to upload the pictures on other websites, if the money was not paid.
The cybercrime police are trying to track down the accused using the Call Detail Records (CDR).
