As Cyclone Montha is expected to cross Andhra Pradesh coast on the evening of Tuesday (October 28, 2025), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert — indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall — for 12 Telangana districts and a yellow alert — indicating heavy rainfall — for seven districts for Wednesday (October 29, 2025).

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad and Warangal districts.
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet and Yadadri Bhongir. Additionally, thunderstorm with lighting and gusty winds was forecast in Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Janagon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhongir, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a generally cloudy sky. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with intense spells at times, likely to occur at few places in the city. Mist or hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning and night hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29 and 21 respectively,” as per the bulletin issued on Tuesday afternoon.
