‘Dacoit' release date revealed; Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur explore action in the new poster, aims THIS festival release

It has been officially announced that the Telugu romantic action drama ‘Dacoit: A Love Story’ starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur will be released worldwide on March 19, 2026. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on Christmas 2025, was postponed after Adivi Sesh was injured during the shoot.

Now that he has fully recovered, the new date has been set for the 'Ugadi' festival.

'Dacoit' centers on the revenge story of a wrongly convicted man.

He escapes from prison and re-enters the life of the woman who betrayed him, he combines his efforts to save her husband with his desire for revenge, drawing her into a dangerous criminal web. The film stars Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zain Mari Khan, among others, in important roles.

Shaneil Deo’s directorial debut

Directed by Shanil Deo, the film marks his directorial debut, while Adivi Sesh has co-written the screenplay along with the debutant. The film is being shot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi and is currently in post-production. The music is provided by Bheems Cecrioeo. With the Christmas 2025 release missed, the team has now announced a release date targeting Ugadi and Eid 2026.
