An MP/MLA court had awarded life sentences to former CPI(ML) legislator Manoj Manjil and 22 others, finding them guilty of abduction and the brutal murder of a man a decade ago
Patna: Gangster-turned-politician and RJD MLA from Danapur, Ritlal Yadav, was granted bail by the Patna MP-MLA court on Tuesday in connection with the 2003 murder of BJP leader Satyanarayan Sinha.
However, he will remain in jail due to other pending cases.Sinha was shot dead during an RJD rally in Danapur in 2003. Yadav, accused of involvement in the murder, won the Danapur seat in 2020 on an RJD ticket, defeating BJP candidate Asha Devi, the widow of the deceased leader.Yadav, who has a history of extortion, land grabbing and other crimes, surrendered in court on April 17, 2025, after a case was registered against him for demanding Rs 50 lakh from a builder. Following this, he was sent to Beur jail and later shifted to Bhagalpur Central Jail amid fears he might orchestrate criminal activities from jail.On July 2, Yadav’s wife met the Bihar assembly Speaker, expressing apprehension about a possible attempt on his life in prison.
