Like every year, the Dasara cultural programmes at the Mysuru palace are among the most awaited events, where artistes of national and international repute perform before connoisseurs of music and dance against the majestic backdrop of the illuminated palace.
The list of artistes for the palace events has been finalised and released, while the names of performers for the Yuva Dasara — a hugely popular segment among the youth — are yet to be announced.
From September 22 to 29, the palace will host a series of grand music and dance performances featuring artistes from across the country.
The cultural programmes will begin on September 22 with a ghazal and classical fusion concert by noted singer Hariharan and his team.
On September 23, audiences can look forward to Indian folk fusion by Thaikudam Bridge Live, followed by a Carnatic classical music concert by Abhishek Raghuram and his team.
September 24 will feature Carnatic fusion instrumentals, musical folk art, and a violin trio, with Mysore Manjunath and his ensemble presenting a violin concert.
On September 25, sitarist Mohsin Khan will be performing apart from a dance presentation by Sridhar Jain and team.
The English Band of the police department will present a concert on September 26, while sitar maestro Neeladri Kumar and team will perform a sitar fusion concert on September 27.
Noted playback singer Vijay Prakash and his troupe will take the stage on September 28. The cultural series will conclude on September 29 with a folk music concert by Mysore Gururaj and a fusion performance by Indu Nagaraj and Lakshmi Nagaraj.
