Dave Portnoy made his debut on Fox Sports’ “Big Noon Kickoff” on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, and it turned into a wild scene right from the start. The Barstool Sports founder, known for his loud support of Michigan, walked onto the stage before the No.

3 Ohio State Buckeyes faced the No. 1 Texas Longhorns. Instead of a calm entrance, Portnoy sang Michigan’s fight song, “Hail to the Victors,” and instantly drew loud boos from the Ohio State crowd.

Dave Portnoy entered through a smoke-filled stage alongside host Rob Stone, who joked, “You are destroying our security budget.” As Portnoy made his way in, he gave a few high-fives but was mostly showered with boos. Once on stage, the trolling only got louder.

Shouting like a WWE promo, Dave Portnoy mocked the Buckeyes over Michigan’s dominance in the rivalry, reminding everyone of the Wolverines’ 13-10 win last season. “Shut up! I want a five-second moment of silence for all you Ohio State morons who have been saying, ‘Here comes the hammer, Michigan’s getting the death penalty (for sign stealing),’” Portnoy yelled, with former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer riling up the fans even more.

Dave Portnoy then revealed a maize and blue shirt under his hoodie that read, “Still can’t beat Michigan.” He added, “That national title you have means nothing to every single one of you. I’m not here to troll you. I’m here to root for the Big Ten and it goes through Ann Arbor. Until you beat us, it will always go through Ann Arbor.”

Fans chanted for him to wear it, but Portnoy refused. “I just got a new house that needs some new toilet paper, so this will fit perfect in the bathroom,” Portnoy said, while still smiling at the gesture. Also Read: Why Dave Portnoy Is Banned From Ohio State Stadium For Fox Big Noon Kickoff DebutDespite joking about the Buckeyes, Dave Portnoy did say he appreciated the fans’ energy. “Columbus has great people.
