NBA insider David Samson gave an honest review of Kendrick Perkins’ comments on Anthony Edwards being considered as the ‘face of the league.’ David brutally slammed the ESPN analyst, reminding the off-the-court scandals of all the legends Perkins name-dropped in his comment.
Perkins appeared on ESPN’s First Take show and meandered into Edwards’ personal life, which was considered unwarranted even by the co-participant.

Amidst the ongoing debate on the present ‘face of the league’, Kendrick Perkins put forth his views on Anthony Edwards as the probable choice for the honor. He was strictly against Edwards as a candidate for the title and gave very bizarre reasons for the same, dragging the player’s personal life into the discussion. It was not taken well by David Samson, who ripped him apart on his podcast, Nothing Personal. He said:“Let me give you facts, Mr. Perkins. You know not of what you speak. Michael Jordan, a family man. Michael Jordan, I'm witnessing pulling up his car on the highway outside of Chicago, coming up to a woman driving and saying, "Pull over. I'd like your number." While speaking on the ‘face of the league’ topic, Kendrick Perkins shared his views on First Take at ESPN. He said:“You got to check the boxes when you are the face of the league.”He continued, “Yes, we know you have to have the signature shoe, you’re going to be in commercials, you are going to have the highlights, you gotta have the game. But you know what else you gotta have? You got to be a role model, right? And things outside the lines matter.
Now, if you go down the list of all the faces of the league in the game. Look at Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, SHAQ, LeBron, Steph.
These are all family men… married men with kids.”

Perkins’ statement didn’t sit well even with the co-participant Stephen A. Smith.
