Decomposed bodies of couple found near Namakkal

NAMAKKAL: The decomposed bodies of a couple were found in a house near Paramathi Velur in Namakkal district on Monday night. The reason for their death was not known, police said.The deceased have been identified as K Ponnusamy alias Ravi, 55, of Vadakku Sellappampalayam and his wife Vasuki, 50.

They were farmers. Their son and daughter are working abroad.

Recently, Ravi had taken a parcel of agricultural land on lease near the Rasampalayam toll gate. He started cultivating there. Alongside farming, he was also involved in palm kernel production. The couple were facing financial difficulties.Their house had remained closed for a couple days. When a foul smell started emanating from the house on Monday evening, locals peered through a window and saw the bodies of the couple.

They alerted the Paramathi police.The police opened the door. They sent the bodies to the Namakkal Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem."We are undertaking a thorough investigation to determine the couple died by suicide or weather they died due to any other reason," stated a police officer.The police registered a case.
