US President Donald Trump said India and the United States have a “special relationship” and there's nothing to worry about
Amid Donald Trump’s back and forth over ties with India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday responded to his latest remark and said that he deeply appreciates and fully reciprocates the US President’s sentiments and “positive assessment” of the bilateral relationship.
Earlier Friday, Trump downplayed tensions with India, calling ties ‘special,’ a day after suggesting that Washington had ‘lost India and Russia’ to China. “I’ll always be friends with (Narendra) Modi, he’s a great prime minister. He’s great. I’ll always be friends, but I just don’t like what he’s doing at this particular moment,” Trump said in the Oval Office on Friday.
Responding to this, PM Modi took to X and wrote: “Deeply appreciate and fully reciprocate President Trump’s sentiments and positive assessment of our ties. India and the US have a very positive and forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership.”
