NEW DELHI: A video showing chaos inside a Metro ladies’ coach, with women seen screaming, scrambling onto seats, and huddling in panic, has gone viral on social media. The commotion is said to be triggered by a rumoured snake inside the coach. Though the reptile itself is not visible in the clip, the panic among passengers suggests they believed one was slithering through the compartment. The video is said to be from the Delhi Metro. One Instagram user posted it with the caption: “From traffic to wildlife — Delhi never disappoints.” The incident reportedly occurred between two stations on an undisclosed metro line, with several social media users speculating that it may have taken place near the busy Sarojini Nagar stretch. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has not issued any official statement on the episode so far. Social media users were quick to react , some with humour, others with concern. “This is like a wildlife safari,” joked one user, while another called the metro “a moving circus.”
A woman claiming to have been in the same coach suggested it may have been a case of mistaken identity. “Someone thought a lizard was a snake, and the panic just spread,” she posted. But not everyone found the frenzy amusing. “It’s not funny at all,” wrote one user. “Panic like this can cause stampedes in crowded compartments.”
