NEW DELHI: According to the police, a complaint was received from Ritu Singh, who alleged that she was duped by unknown persons on the pretext of providing a job in an airline. She stated that she received an email followed by messages from a mobile number, through which the fraudsters gained her confidence.
She was induced to make multiple payments towards job processing fees, uniform charges, and other formalities.DCP Shahdara Prashant Gautam said that the police team analysed call detail records (CDR), technical surveillance data, and digital footprints of the accused. Based on the investigation, a raid was conducted in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, leading to the arrest of Rohit Mishra, 35.During the search, police recovered a mobile phone with a WhatsApp profile saved under the name of an airline, multiple QR codes, a fake Letter of Intent (LOI), and other forged documents used for committing job fraud.Police further revealed that Mishra was previously involved in a cheating case.
