Dengue cases spike: Telangana health minister orders anti-larval drive expansion; GHMC told to deploy officers

HYDERABAD: Telangana health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Saturday instructed the expansion of anti-larval operations in high-risk districts and the GHMC area, amid a rise in dengue cases across the state, particularly in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.According to officials, while 19 districts recorded fewer than 10 cases, the remaining districts reported higher numbers.The minister directed GHMC officials to appoint officers in severely affected areas and asked the health secretary, Christina Z Chongthu, to coordinate with district collectors.
