Depressed over Canada visa rejection, 20-year-old youth dies by suicide in Punjab's Barnala district

BARNALA: Twenty-year-old Dilpreet Singh from Sukhpura village in Barnala district ended his life by shooting himself. He was reportedly depressed over the refusal of his application for immigration to Canada.

Dilpreet wanted to migrate to Canada to join his sister, who successfully reached Canada on a student visa in the past. When he failed in his mission, he took the extreme step at his home on Sunday. He was the only son of his parents.Sukhpura village Sarpanch, Manjinder Singh, stated that Dilpreet was eager to move to Canada and became depressed when his immigration file was rejected. He committed suicide using the family's licensed weapon.
