Deputy CM hands over land papers to martyr’s widow

Patna: Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary on Monday handed over documents for one acre of settlement land to Kanak Kumari, wife of martyred Subedar Santosh Kumar, in Gurua block of Gaya district.

Subedar Santosh was martyred in a bomb blast in Leh–Ladakh last year.Choudhary said the NDA govt salutes the martyr’s sacrifice and stands firmly with his family. Fulfilling the dreams of martyrs is the true tribute, he added. “My father was also a soldier and fought in three wars. I understand the sacrifice and dedication of a soldier’s family,” he said.He said the NDA govts at both the state and central levels are committed to honouring and supporting the families of martyrs.Recently, while unveiling the statue of martyr Subedar Santosh Kumar at Amokhar, Choudhary had promised to provide land to his family. Gurua MLA Upendra Prasad, Gaya DM Shashank Shubhankar and others were present at the event.
