Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan calls for strict management of queue lines at temples

Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan said in a press release that he was deeply saddened by the death of several people in the stampede that happened in Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Kasibugga in Srikakulam district. 

He stated that the temple, which is being entirely managed by private individuals, was teeming with devotees on the auspicious occasion of Karthika Ekadasi and it was because of the heavy rush that the tragic incident took place.

Mr. Kalyan said the officials were instructed to provide the best possible medical care to the injured, and to take necessary relief and rescue operations. 

He observed that the rush of devotees was common at all temples during the Karthika Masam (month), and said he told the officials of the Endowments Department to ensure strict management of queue lines on such festive occasions. 

He sought special care for women, children, and the elderly so that they do not face any inconvenience, and deployment of police personnel and doctors and paramedical staff in advance to deal with such emergencies.
