Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is focusing on development of the region from Anantapur to Kurnool as an industrial corridor, said Minister for Industries T.G. Bharath.

Speaking to the media after a review meeting of the arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, Mr. Bharath said that Mr. Naidu also wants to develop tourism in the region and announced that a five-star hotel will be constructed in Srisailam.

Mr. Bharath stated that the reduction in GST has significantly benefited the people and urged the public to make the Prime Minister’s visit a success.

Minister for Water Resources Nimmala Rama Naidu, who was also present at the review, said that the coalition government is working with a focus on development and welfare. He said that within a year, the government has surpassed the welfare programmes implemented by the previous government.

Pointing out that the government is creating large-scale job and employment opportunities for the youth, as promised in the election manifesto, he said, “As part of the goal to provide 20 lakh jobs in five years, efforts are being made to attract industrialists and investments to the State.”

He alleged that major companies like Lulu, Hero MotoCorp, Amara Raja, and Jockey exited the State during the previous YSR Congress Party government’s tenure. However, efforts are being made to bring such investments back, he said, adding that many industrialists are seeking a guarantee that former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will not return to power.

The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and IT Minister Nara Lokesh are actively working to attract investments, which will create large-scale employment for the youth, he added.
