This Dhanteras, I plan to invest in gold — it’s something that holds value and grows over time. With prices soaring, it feels like the ideal time to invest. It started as a family tradition, and now it’s one I proudly continue.Pooja Banerjee

I buy gold every year as I believe it brings prosperity and is also a smart investment. Last year, I invested in the stock market, but this year I plan to buy something in gold for my newborn — a beautiful kada or a kurta button in gold and diamonds.Saumya Tandon

In the past, I’ve bought my wedding jewellery, car, and even my first house on this day. But lately, I’ve moved away from gold and silver. I now prefer supporting craftsmanship — handcrafted saris, jewellery, bags, even diyas from local artisans. This year, I’m celebrating handmade, homegrown beauty and the people who create it.Ankit Gupta

Dhanteras has always been about health and prosperity. As a kid, I’d go with my mom to buy gold, silver or utensils — whatever we could afford.

I still follow that ritual in Mumbai and buy gold coins. Lighting the lamp outside the door is believed to keep negativity away from the home.Adrija Roy

I think I’ll buy a gold bracelet or bangles for my mom. It’s something my family does every year, and I’ve grown up with the belief that bringing gold home brings good energy and blessings. Also, buying something with your own hard-earned money is always special.Vahbiz Dorabjee

Every year, I buy something in gold or silver — usually coins.

This year, too, I plan to buy the same. We perform a small puja, place jewellery in milk with kumkum, rose petals, and rice, and light diyas around the house. The day ends with home-cooked prasad, flowers and rangoli at the entrance — that’s what completes Dhanteras. Kanwar Dhillon

I buy something valuable every Dhanteras — usually a gold coin or an investment that appreciates in value. This year I’m also planning to get the keys to my new house around Diwali, so it’s going to be a meaningful occasion.Rohan Mehra

After 10 years of living in Mumbai, I’m finally buying my own house here this Dhanteras! It’s a huge milestone for me, and I couldn’t have chosen a more auspicious time to make it happen.Supriya Shukla

I’m planning to buy a brass utensil this Dhanteras. My mother-in-law had passed one down to me earlier, and now I want to get a new one. It’s a tradition my mother always followed — to buy utensils on this day. The kitchen is the heart of the house, and bringing something new to it feels important.

I do buy gold sometimes, but even if I don’t, I always make sure to get utensils — it’s our family tradition.Aditya Deshmukh

I plan to gift my parents something in gold. It’s a tradition we follow — every year we exchange gifts and buy gold or silver. A few years ago, I got a car for myself, and this time around, I want to make it special for my family and gift them something valuable.
