In that interview, Kasthuri Raja said, “It was always my wish that my children should complete their studies well and go into other fields. But the situation changed, and cinema itself attracted them. Initially, actor Uday Kiran was selected for the film 'Thulluvadho Ilamai'. But when he opted out, it was decided to introduce Dhanush as the hero.
Even though Dhanush had no interest in it, he somehow convinced him and agreed."

Kasthuri Raja further shared: “Back then,
Selvaraghavan
would behave very angrily on the shooting spot. He would scold Dhanush whenever anyone made a mistake. When he gets home, Dhanush would lean on his mother's lap and cry, saying, "I don't want to do cinema at all. Even when everyone makes mistakes, he scolds me." Although the cinema appears bright on the outside, inside it is full of great pain and difficulty.
