Dharmasthala row: YouTuber Sameer MD's Bengaluru house raided; phone, computer seized

BENGALURU: A team from Belthangady police station conducted a search in the house of YouTuber MD Sameer at Royal Residency Layout in Hullahalli of Bannerghatta Thursday. During the search, the team seized some documents and gadgets used to create videos that were uploaded on YouTube.A case was registered against Sameer at Dharmasthala police station after a derogatory video on Dharmasthala temple was uploaded on his YouTube channel, Dhoota. Sameer, who is accused of using artificial intelligence to make the video, is out on bail. He appeared twice for interrogation at Belthangady. The team, headed by inspector Nagesh Kadri, along with forensic officials, searched his house in a multi-storey building after obtaining a search warrant from the court, according to sources.

The search and mahazar concluded by evening. During the search, police seized a mobile phone, computer and a CPU, which they will send to FSL to retrieve data, the sources added.
