 'What's wrong?'

Actress Ayesha Khan called out a viral clip from comedian Pranit More's stand-up show, labeling it "scary" after an audience member implied he expected something in return for spending Rs 370 on a date. Pranit More later issued a public apology, admitting it was a lapse in judgement.

Ayesha Khan voiced her concern over a viral clip from comedian Pranit More's stand-up show, calling it "scary" and questioning the audience's reaction. The clip that set off the controversy showed a crowd interaction segment where a 23-year-old audience member talked about spending Rs 370 on a plate of chicken biryani on a date, openly implying he expected something in return.

The comment did not go down well with social media users, many of whom quickly labeled it as misogynistic and highly offensive.

Ayesha Khan reacts to the viral clip on Instagram

As the clip continued to spread across social media, Ayesha took to her Instagram story to share her thoughts and express her disgust over the incident. She wrote, "The way every man in the room is laughing is scary to even watch, the way the host is laughing, the fact that iss reel ke post hone ke pehle is pe thought diya gaya hai aur phir bhi post hui hai is scary, we are not angry enough for what has happened."The actress did not stop there and questioned the deeply troubling mindset behind Himanshu's remarks. She further stated, "You went on a date, spent 370 rupees and you thought you had rights on the woman's body? Where are we headed? What's wrong?"

Pranit More issues a public apology

Pranit More eventually broke his silence and issued a public apology after facing massive backlash over the viral clip. He acknowledged the criticism and made it clear that the audience member's comments did not reflect his own views.

"I've seen the criticism regarding a recent crowdwork clip. The comments made by the audience member do not reflect my views. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on.

That was a lapse in judgement on my part," he said. Expressing genuine regret over the whole incident, he added, "I appreciate everyone who raised their concerns respectfully. I sincerely apologise for whatever happened, and I'll take this lesson forward.

I'm human, and like anyone else, I'm constantly learning."
